Condolence: The next to last time I saw Nancy was August 2, 1970, the day I quit smoking. It was breaking my heart that my good friend was leaving Newtown- Nancy was my regular tennis partner after we moved to town in 1968. She had five wonderful kids- Mark, Susan, Tracey, Todd and Renee, and I was yet to have my first, so I was looking to her for a role model in being a mom, and here she was moving to Maine! Before she left, while I was pregnant with our son Joe, I went with Nancy and the kids, and her Australian friend, Joan and her kids, up to Kent Falls State Park for an October picnic in 1969. The kids started howling that there were yellow jackets buzzing around our picnic table. While I hung back in alarm, Nancy calmly reached out and mashed them one by one between her thumb and fingers. She was being a mom! That made such an impression on me- she was always wise and strong and upbeat. I saw her once more in 1974, when we stopped off in Rockland on our way back from Nova Scotia, and she had become the head nurse at the hospital. It seemed like it was a good move for her, but I still missed her a lot.

Condolence: Words can't explain how much I will miss one of the strongest women I know. Thanks for the great childhood memories. The tears have flowed but I can't but smile when I think of the " you guys better knock-it-off" stare! I'll see ya when I see ya. Love you, Rich.

Condolence: Thoughts and prayers are with the family of Nancy, of whom I knew many of and went to school with. I remember Nancy, as well as your dad, both of whom were extremely nice people.
