Condolence: Bert Snow was the best police officer and chief that the city of Rockland had in all my years here and I'm no spring chicken. As a kid he would stop and talk to us as 9 or 10 year olds as if he were one of us. He had that magic. He showed us how the blue lights and siren worked. He always had time for young and old alike. A cops cop. I've seen him in action against a child molester in the act and his rapid and decisive action. I cannot think of anyone I respect more. I hope that maybe someday I can meet him again. Goodbye Bert.

Condolence From: John Lorenzen
Condolence: Way to often we throw around the terms of greatness or hero without the understanding that the real measure of the man is what he does in a lifetime. Everyday, in communities across the nation, we have the passing of those that never played on the national stage, nor did they aspire to that. Rather, they served their family, community and fellow man. They were not perfect. None of us are. But their actions and efforts are a testament to their greatness. This is the way I remember Chief Snow. Thank you Bert for the life lessons you taught me. Rest in peace.

Condolence: Helen and Family,
I am so saddened to learn of Bert's passing. I was the copy editor of "The Main Beam," working with Bert, the Rockland Historical Society, as well as captains Doug and Linda Lee. Bert, always loaded with passion for his task of recording Rockland's rich history of shipbuilding, was hands down the most gentle man I have ever met. I am so very sorry that he no longer walks this earth, but I assure you, he will live on in the hearts and minds of so very many people, and most especially mine. He gave out the warmest bear hugs, too! RIP, dear Bert.
