Obituary for Lieselotte Dodd

Lieselotte Dodd
ROCKLAND - Lieselotte ‘Lotte’ Eichenlaub Dodd, 72, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2014, after a period of declining health at Winship Green in Bath.

Born in Freising, Germany, December 7, 1942, she was the daughter of George and Helene Niedermuller Eichenlaub. Lotte graduated from high school in Germany in 1959. She moved to the United States from Germany at the age of 20. Lotte married Ronald Dodd on December 4, 1962, in Manchester, NH and they later made their home in Maine. She raised her boys after they divorced.

She worked many years as a stitcher at Schoolhouse Toggs in Rockland and later Moss, Inc. in Belfast. She retired from Moss, Inc. in 2004. She moved to Brooks with her friend, Dave Hills and lived there for seven years. She later moved to Jefferson Green Assisted Living in Jefferson for two years and mostly recently resided at Woodlands Memory Care Center in Rockland.

Lotte was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She was a loving and caring woman who always put others before herself. She had a wonderful smile that could light up a room. She had a great sense of humor. She loved watching her children and grandchildren grow. She attended many sporting and school events. She enjoyed traveling, reading, cooking, knitting, and most of all, spending time with her family and friends.

Predeceased by both her parents; two sisters, Rosa Tobishka and Erna Kriechbaum; a brother Georg Eichenlaub; and her former husband, Ronald Dodd; Lotte is survived by her sons, Michael Dodd of Appleton, Steven Dodd and his wife, Kristi of South Hope; her sister, Helene Susor and her husband, Don of Ocala, Florida, a brother Erich Einchenlaub and his wife, Anna, of Germany; five grandchildren, Nathan, Coleman, Desi, Tyler, and Abby; one great-grandson Kaiden; and her long-time friends, Carol and Tom Christie, Mary and Gibby Ober, Carolyn Robinson, and her special friend Dave Hills.

Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Lotte's life on Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at 11:00 AM at Burpee, Carpenter, and Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock St, in Rockland.
