Obituary for Harold Ernest Wentworth

NEW CASTLE - Harold E. Wentworth, 68, died unexpectedly at home, Saturday, October 11, 2014.
Born in Camden, February 7, 1946, he was the son of Harold and Ann Nelson Wentworth. Harold was educated in Camden schools.
Harold began his working career as a tree climber for Goodrich Tree Service. He worked there for 20 years before moving on to Bath Iron Works. He was proud to have worked there for nearly 20 years as a pipe-fitter and insulator.
In the late 1990s Harold married Lois Colson in Rockport. Together they made their home in Rockland before moving to Newcastle.
An avid outdoorsmen, Harold loved to go camping and fishing. His family said he could make anything and often made his own fishing poles. Four-wheeling, 'mudding' in his jeep and wheeling and dealing at yard sales were also favorite pastimes.
Family was very important to him and he enjoyed any opportunity to get together. He also had a great sense of humor, and his son said, he often poked fun of his wife's cooking while asking for a second helping. He will be sadly missed.
Predeceased by a grandson Tyler, and sister Gladys Huntley, Harold is survived by his wife of 18 years, Lois; his sons, Christopher Wentworth of Newcastle, Harold Wentworth, Jr. of Florida; his stepsons, Edward Colson and his wife Jeanne of South Thomaston, Timothy Colson, Christopher Colson both of Rockland; his daughters, Ellie Stairs of Rockland, Tammy Stairs of Lincolnville; his step-daughter Angela West and her husband PJ of Rockland; his brother Daryl Moody and his wife Jean of Sabbatus; his sister Dianne Moody of Topsham; his best friend Hod Edwards of Woolwich; his grandchildren, Jenny, Zachary, Brandon, Megan, Lindsey, Alex, Ryan, Casey, Christopher, Jr.; two great-grandchildren, Briley and Peyton; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Betty Colson, Cindy Colson, Priscilla and Gerald Demmons, Ruth and Vernard Mossman, Wayne 'Bunky' Colson, Wesley Colson, Terry and Cindy Colson, and Gene and Lista Colson; many nieces and nephews, and large extended family.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Achorn Cemetery, Rockland. The Reverend Wayne Sawyer will officiate.
