Obituary for Freddie Alton Luce

Freddie Alton Luce
NORTH FORT MYERS, FL - Freddie Alton Luce of North Fort Myers, FL, passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at his home after a long struggle with poor health. He was 58. He was born on September 18, 1955 in Waldoboro, Maine. He grew up in Rockland, where he attended Rockland District High School.

Freddie did many things during his life and was taken too early; he loved many and was loved by everyone who had the pleasure to meet with him. He enjoyed drawing and painting, which spilled over into his occupation as a painter in Maine where he was self-employed and to his final job in Florida with Florida Painting Co.

His passion was motorcycles and everything that goes along with them: riding, freedom of the road and sense of brotherhood among other riders.

Freddie is survived by his sons, Josiah Winchenbach of Jefferson, William Eustis of Rockland, Michael Luce of Fort Myers, FL, Chris Luce of South Portland; and his older sister Barbara Hannan of Union. He is predeceased by his father Richard Luce, his mother Alma Gray, and his older brother Robert "Bob" Luce.

An informal memorial service will be held from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 7th at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland, followed by a celebration of life at the Rockland Elks Lodge.
