Condolences

Condolence From: Bill Graves
Condolence: Dear Darlene and Family,
I was so sorry to learn of your loss. Although I'd not seen either of you in a number of years, I remember Bucky's time in my karate classes with a smile and great fondness. I'm still teaching martial arts, with 18 of my black belts we run 8 dojos throughout Aroostook county and Canada and this is my 47th year. To this day I tell stories of past students and Bucky takes center stage in several! When we would get ready to point spar everyone would get into their fighting gear. Bucky would take twice as long as everyone else because he had a huge selection of protective gear: boots, gloves, head gear, elbow pads, knee pads, shin pads, forearm pads, etc. He looked a bit like the Pillsbury Doughboy and we would tease him a bit. He always had the last laugh however, he never got injured while the rest of us got regularly bruised, and banged up. Bucky will be missed, but he will surely be remembered. A great student and friend. My deepest sympathy.

Condolence From: Roger & Marcella Bernard
Condolence: Darlene and family: Marcella and I send our sincere condolences on the passing of my high school classmate and later in life we both worked in the same high school. Bucky was the best chemistry teacher we ever hired and we hated to see him leave when the coast of Maine drew him away from us. Each reunion was important to me when I could sit down and chat with him. We will all miss his presence and his words of wisdom. Thanks Bucky for allowing me to know you.

Condolence From: Julia Gentle Craigs
Condolence: Please know I send my sympathy to all Bucky's family
I am a cousin who lives at Houlton and knew all the Bruce family. As Bucky was the youngest, I knew him the least.
His sisters Margaret and Christine were the ages of my sister and I And Alton and Stanley, the two boys.
It was a very nice obituary and was glad to read of his interesting life.
with sympathy, Julia

Condolence From: Paul Rediker
Condolence: Charlie, as I knew him, was a warm wonderful friend, and treated me as if I was his brother. He and I worked together at Cyr Foods plant, and he sure was there the day I really needed him. He took charge, seeing that I got to, and got cared for, on that March day in 1973 when I lost my hand in a huge fan at the plant. He drove me to the hospital, and when he saw that I was in tow and safe, he drove to Fort Fairfield to personally inform my wife, and drive her to the hospital. He was that kind of guy, and the Rediker family will cherish his memory.
