Obituary for Janet P. Hansen (Addario)

TENANTS HARBOR, MAINE - Janet Pauline Hansen, 67, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at her home surrounded by family, friends and pets.
Born in Berlin, NH, June 30, 1946, she was the daughter of Armand and Lucille Devost Addario. She graduated from Gorham High School in 1964 and went on to receive her Cosmetology License in Concord, NH. She operated her own in-home hair salon in Gorham, NH until her move to Maine in 1993. Upon moving to Maine, she became the personal assistant and friend to Paige Rense Noland. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and animal lover. She loved cooking and baking for friends and family; you never left her house hungry. She enjoyed outdoor gardening and camping.
She was a Communicant of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Rockland.
Janet leaves behind her husband, John Hansen of Tenants Harbor; three daughters, Tammi Kirchoff and husband Paul of Apple Valley MN, Erika Shields and husband Linwood, Alexandria Turner all of Warren, ME; son-in- law, Shanon Turner of Jefferson, ME; six grandchildren, Natalie Shields, Kevin, and Amanda Kirchoff, Connor, Lillian, and Lucy Turner; two brothers, Steven Addario of Cape Elizabeth, ME, Richard Addario and wife June of Gorham, NH; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Richard "Dickie" Babin; parents, Armand and Lucille Addario; and grandson, Ethan Shields.
Janet's family would like to give a special "Thank You" to the Knox County Sheriffs Office and surrounding law enforcement agencies and close friends for all their support during this difficult time.
Janet will be greatly missed by all those who were blessed to have known her. She had the biggest heart of gold.
A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 150 Broadway, Rockland, ME. The Reverend Richard C. Malo will officiate. A graveside committal service will be held at twelve o’clock noon, Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at Holy Family Cemetery, Church Street, Gorham, New Hampshire.
