Condolence: I am so sorry to read of Sylvia's passing. She was a classmate of mine at RHS. She married Arnold Hocking whom I knew as well. Sylvia was always friendly and a very nice person. Also, I remember the store her Dad and Mr.Naum had in Rockland called Naum & Adams where my father traded for years.
My sincere condolences to Arnold and their children for their loss.
Sincerely,
Evelyn Kalloch

Condolence: I'm very sorry for the loss that Sylvia's friends and family must be feeling. I knew her when I was a child when my family would stop in and buy pies and crumbles and bars to enjoy during our annual summer vacation in Thomaston. She, along with my mother and grandmother, inspired in me a love of baking and the special moment shared when one cuts the first piece of pie. I remember returning to Maine as an awkward teen and feeling such pride when I brought her a piece of the chocolate pecan pie I'd spent my winter perfecting. Every Thanksgiving and Christmas at my home is made more special by her recipes. My memories of Maine are made more special by the peeks into her kitchen that I snuck to try and spot the magic that so clearly was in use. Thank you Sylvia for sharing some of your magic with me and my family. Rest in peace.

Condolence: What a beautiful service for Sylvia. I loved it when her family got up and shared their memories of her. I will never forget how kind she was to me and my boys. She welcomed us into the family with great loving arms...lighting up every time she saw us, squeezing our cheeks, always telling us that we were special and that she loved us! She knew what perfume I liked and for many years sent it to me for my birthday. Ricky always loved her brownies so...she was always sending him some. And one of her cookbooks too! What a blessing she and her family has been to me and mine. I will miss her so much.

Condolence: For Arnold, Steve and Bryan - I have such rich and beautiful memories of our two families spending time together in our younger days. Sylvia always had something positive to say and gave encouragement and love to me in times of both joy and sorrow. I always felt welcome and stopped by your home many times unannounced when my children were young, and always left with something delicious from the freezer! I am blessed to have known her. With love, Jayne

Condolence: Arnold, Steve, Elise, Bryan, Janet, and family,
Sorry to hear of the loss of our very special Lady Sylvia,
She was always there for me during my young teenage years. Lots of stories to tell of the family history. The memories of the Baked goodies during the family functions on North Maine Street especially during the Lobster Festival. Thoughts and prayers are with you all. May she rest in peace as she joins her family in Heaven..
Prayers
Eileen
