Condolences

Condolence From: Frank Ross
Condolence: Andy and I worked together off and on with the transfer facility in Owls Head since it was began back in the early 80's trying to make it a safe clean facility for the town and I got to know him really well. Then he said he would like to join the fire dept as a fire police. He would stand out in the worse weather with no hat or gloves and only a light jacket. I'd come by and give him heck and he'd put something on then I'd look and he had them off again. I remember the night he responded to an accident and either forgot to set his parking brake or it failed and the truck dragged him into the curb Pulling his adductor muscle in his right leg, which is really painful. I only caught a glimpse of it out of the corner of my eye and didn't quite know what had happened until a neighbor came to me and told me. He didn't want to bother us from removing the patient from the vehicle. At picnics Andy would ask for the lobster bodies from those without the patience to pick them out not knowing that was where the sweetest meat was. Andy would sit and pick while listening to the proceedings and go home with a big container of lobster meat. Andy once told me the metal he had piled up was his savings account. Whenever he needed money he would take it and sell it. Sure paid better than the banks. Andy would do anything for you, for anyone, always willing to help, even when he didn't feel good himself. We all miss him at the fire dept. Not seeing him at calls or in his chair at the table at meetings makes us all realize our short time on this earth comes to an end sooner rather than later. We'll miss you Andy!

Condolence: To Andy's Family

I am very sorry for the loss of Andy.
I have known him for years and considered him a great friend.
He would help anyone who needed it any time anywhere.
He always had treats for all the dogs he encountered during any given day.
I am in Florida and will not be able to attend the funeral but my thoughts and prayers are with you.
