Condolence: I am sure going to miss my friend. We had long talks, & lots of laughs. He would at my request play the accordion at the Finnish Church, which we all enjoyed. Playing music in Heaven now. R.I.P. My Friend.

Condolence: Jon was generous in spirit, and shared his vast knowledge and opinion of everything to anyone and everyone who would listen, and his commanding presence ensure that. A good natured, good humored, and totally original. i adored him from the first time we met, about 35 years ago, maybe almost 40. A very light on his feet dancer, music exuded from within him and glowed without. We will miss him, beloved "Kiddo"

Condolence: What great good fortune to have grown up with John and all the culture he brought to our house. So many memories of hearty meals, lively music, stories of Grandpa Spence, and the spot on impersonation of Julia Childs and her roast pig! Can't forget the Midlothian oat cakes you used to make me. We have certainly lost a brilliant mind and gentle soul. For you John-"Stick to the cratur the best thing in nature for sinking your sorrows and saving your joys..." Thank you my old potato.
