Obituary for Paul Edward Nugent Sr.

Paul Edward  Nugent Sr.
Paul Nugent, Sr., passed away peacefully in his home in Washington, Maine on Monday, November 12, 2012.

Born June 26, 1925 in Norwood, Massachusetts, he was the son of John Nugent & Ethel Power Nugent. Paul grew up in Mt Rainier, Maryland and graduated from the high school there, whereupon he immediately enlisted in the US Navy. His service as an Aviation Radioman on the USS Randolph during Task Force 58 in the Pacific provided the proudest moments of his life.

Discharged in 1946, Paul attended the University of Maryland, College Park, and received a Bachelor of Arts degree. The FBI recruited him shortly thereafter; he served as a Special Agent for the Bureau for next thirty years, mostly at the Washington, DC headquarters.

In 1951 Paul married Jacquelyn Roxanna Graham, who predeceased him in 2005. He is survived by six children: Kathlene Oroark of Frederick, Maryland; Karen Jelenfy of Washington, Maine; Paula Phillips of Florida; Patricia Nugent of Baltimore, Maryland; Paul Nugent, Jr of Silver Spring, Maryland and Michael Nugent of Marietta, Georgia, along with 12 grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren.

Mr Nugent took the greatest delight in his many friends at Leisure World Maryland and Our Lady of Grace Church there. He was not a man for hobbies, although he did have have an interesting relationship with the sport of golf.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at Our Lady of Grace Church, Leisure World in Silver Spring, Maryland. The time & date will be announced.
